I spent this weekend with Family down in our usual log cabins at Skeagh Lake in County Cavan. I came across this tiny buttercup almost lost inside tall blades of lush green grass that were drenched after a downpour an hour earlier.
A close-up of the delicate petals of a Centaurea montana flower set against a soft green background. The image I am posting today is a follow-up to one I posted earlier last month although taking a different perspective on the flower also known as a Bachelor's Button.
I decided on this occasion to visit the Alpine Gardens as I rarely spend any time there and I was confident I was missing something. And I was right, I came across this Mountain Cornflower which I had not seen before.
An early morning visit to the Botanical Gardens in Dublin treated me to a freshly watered Rhododendron. The flowers were in full bloom and saturated in heavy droplets of water.
