I continue to share images from my recent trip to Donegal today with this one from a beautiful sunrise on day 3. I had not planned to get up for sunrise as the forecast was pretty bleak. Yea I know why would I ever listen to a weather forecast! I guess though that something in me made me get out of bed just as the sun was about to rise and when I saw the potential I grabbed my bag and ran. I mean that literally. I had no time to spare. Two minutes away from the house we were staying at there was a tiny harbour and a beach and I made my way there, knowing I had no time to travel further. I arrived with not a moment to spare and grabbed a couple of compositions before the sun rose too high and became too harsh.
This is quite a different image for me as it has a very bright sun partially in-frame but I felt it critical to include it so as to provide the context for all those beautiful highlights on the rocks scattered around the foreground. Also my image from last year Sunrise Over Howth which employs a similar approach is an incredibly popular image with those of you that have purchased prints from me.
