A Wicklow Landscape | Early Morning upon Lough Tay – Co Wicklow, Ireland

The sun casts its early morning rays upon the cliffs surrounding Lough Tay, Co. Wicklow in Ireland.
On Tuesday I spoke about my weekend trip to Lough Tay in the Wicklow Mountains and today I will continue with another image from that trip. After I had finished up at the top of the mountain I began to work my way back down. Some of these valleys don’t see sunlight for more then an hour after sunrise.
I had returned to the Lough with the intention of taking some detail images of the frost that was still clinging to the shadows when the above vista opened up. The sun had just begun to breach the hills on the left and cast some beautiful soft rays upon the water. You can see that some parts of the lake are still frozen. The sunlight was also beginning to catch and reflect from the frost covered grass in the foreground creating quite a surreal landscape.
