The Botanical Gardens here in Dublin is a place I visit regularly (here, here, here, here, here & here). They have an abundance of floral life no matter what time of the year you visit. They have a number of beautiful iron glasshouses that date back to the mid part of the 19th century. One of these is dedicated to Orchids so I can never visit the gardens without making a beeline for this glasshouse.
When composing this image I really wanted to communicate the nature of these Orchids – the soft texture, the intricate pattern, the delicate colour.
